A year in review - 2025

Looking back at 2025 and sharing a bit about who I am

Hey there! My name is Hasan Shoaib. I’m a lot of things. At the core I’m a problem solver. I like sales, I like programming, I like reading, I like listening to podcasts, I like spirituality, I like tech, I like a good conversation. I like good food. My favourite desert is cheesecake. I’m 17, almost 18. I was born in the UAE and when I was little, my family moved to Norway for a few years. I have a lot of memories over there. Oh… It was just so beautiful. Such a marvelous place! Ahh the serenity, the peacefulness, the cleanliness, the weather, the snowfall, the everything! Ngl the schools were pretty good as well in terms of education standard as well but bro just overall, it was spectacular! I guess everybody probably feels that way about their childhood. Mine is probably no exception.

My reading journey

Most people who know me know that I am an avid reader. I read a lot. Too much tbh. Reading was always my thing from the start since when I was 8 or 9. I started my reading journey with short stories and encyclopedies. My favourite author at the time was Enid Blyton. Ahh She had a good taste in writing. The stories were short, funny, morally fulfilling, and imaginitive.

I then went on to be attracted more towards the adventure genere of books. I started with The famous five, and the adventure series. Yes, also written by Enid Blyton. Others include Horrid Henry books and whatnot. Overall I can safely say I’d read almost if not a 100 books up until this point. By the time the pandemic hit, infact just around when it was finishing, so 2022, I dug up a new series. The Hardy Boys. The Hardy Boys was an American series where to teenage brothers, Frank & Joe used to tag along with their detective father and do detective work.

Now, before this point, any book that I had read was in paperback. However, The Hardy Boys weren’t publicly available in book form anywhere. So I did what any book maniac enthusiast would… Read the book online! Ikr? The Hardy Boys series had just about 200 books in total. Not short either, around ~250 pages each book! I’m not kidding when I say I used to literally be sprawled on my bed like a potato head, flipping the next pages like a dumbo!

Although, I’m not gonna lie, it was fun!

I then graduated over to proper YA. So Alex Rider, Department 19 (In my top 3!)
